# PumpFlow Installation Guide

## Installing

1. Quit your DAW if it's running
2. Navigate to the macOS folder in the downloaded package
3. Copy `PumpFlow.vst3` to:
   ```
   /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
   ```
   and `PumpFlow.component` (for Logic Pro and GarageBand) to:
   ```
   /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
   ```
   (Create the folders if they don't exist)
4. Open your DAW. PumpFlow appears after its plugin scan; rescan if it doesn't.

## Using PumpFlow

Put PumpFlow on the track you want to duck: a bassline, a pad, or a bus with everything
but the kick. In Sync mode it ducks on every beat straight away, in time with your project.

To follow the kick itself, choose the Audio trigger and route the kick into PumpFlow's
sidechain input (how depends on your DAW). Without a sidechain, the Audio trigger listens
to the track PumpFlow is on. For the MIDI trigger, send PumpFlow notes; in Logic Pro use the
Audio Unit, which is a MIDI-controlled effect.

## Troubleshooting

- If you see a security warning, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and allow
  PumpFlow, then reopen your DAW
- If your DAW lists PumpFlow as failed, rescan it in the DAW's plugin manager
- Ensure your macOS version is 10.15 or later
